Week 1 teaching on How to MAKE Disciples

STUDENT STUDY GUIDE: WEEK 1

06/19/2026 at Zera house

Dear Beloved Students in Christ,

As we embark on this sacred journey of understanding “How to Make a Disciple,” let us remember that we are not relying on the wisdom of the world, but instead, we are guided by the divine revelation found in the Word of God. With hearts open to the Holy Spirit, we will explore the profound and transformative lessons that are set before us. Below, you will find the Week 1 study guides to assist you in this enriching experience.

Subject: The Life Shared
Key Verse: Mark 3:14

“And He ordained twelve, that they should be with Him, and that He might send them forth to preach.”; Mark 3:14

I. Reflection Questions:

  1. When you think of a “man of God,” do you envision someone perfect, or do you see someone who is perfectly dependent on God? Reflect on this profound question. The world often paints a picture of perfection, but in the eyes of our Lord, it is our reliance on Him that makes us whole. Just as the disciples were flawed yet chosen, we too are imperfect vessels filled with His grace. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts as you consider your own dependence on God.
  2. Read 2 Corinthians 12:9. How does this verse change the way you view your own weaknesses when helping others? “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’” This powerful declaration from Paul invites us to embrace our weaknesses as opportunities for God’s strength to shine through. How might this understanding transform your approach to supporting others in their struggles? Reflect on the beauty of God’s grace as you acknowledge your vulnerabilities.
  3. Who in your life has let you see their “real life”? How did that impact your faith? Think about the individuals who have been transparent with you; those who have shared their joys, struggles, and authentic selves. Their openness may have inspired you to deepen your walk with Christ. In what ways did their authenticity encourage you to grow in faith? Let us honor those moments of connection and vulnerability that have drawn us closer to the heart of God.

II. Weekly Challenge:

This week, I invite you to engage in a simple yet profound challenge. Identify one “everyday” task that you usually do alone; whether it’s grocery shopping, cleaning, or a morning walk. Before you begin, take a moment to pray. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and reveal someone who might need your company or encouragement during this task. Perhaps it’s a friend, family member, or even someone from your community who could benefit from shared time. Extend the invitation with love and be open to the blessings that come from sharing that moment together. Remember, it is in our shared experiences that we often find the richest opportunities for discipleship.

As you journey through this week, may the Holy Spirit inspire and empower you to live out your faith authentically. Let us step forward with hearts full of love, ready to make disciples as we walk together in Christ’s light.

In His love and grace,
